Friends . . .

We are fine - so far we survived the big tornado without any damage {we think?!} I saw it drop out of the sky in front of the house. I have no real perception of how far it was, but with all the phone calls and news coverage it seemed to be about a quarter of a mile from the house. We started throwing all the Christmas stuff out of the closet that goes under our staircase. The kids thought we were throwing some kind of party! That should tell you how the stuff was flying through the air while the closet was being cleared!

We sit here with no electricity. We hear sirens in the distance. Please pray for the families around us. The neighborhood between us and our zoned school has several flattened houses and assuming some causalities. We also hear that several neighborhoods across town have been hit.

It seems the storms are over {for now.} You never know with crazy-Tennessee weather.

I will keep you all posted.

I see they're expecting more possibilities of tornados for your area. You could fix up the closet into a really cool fort just to keep them in there!
Stay safe!!!

Am so glad it missed you guys and will be praying for others in this terrible storm's path.

Am concerned about my daughter and grandkids because they left NC this a.m. to drive back to Atlanta. I kept calling her with updates until a little while ago when she got within range of Atlanta radio stations!

WOW...I'm so glad you're okay. It luckily went around us, last night. They were dropping down all around us in Arkansas, as well. Tornadoes scare me to death.

Praying for the families that experienced loss, last night.

My kids and I were praying for you through the storm. We will continue to pray for you community.

When we lost our power for several days during Ike and during an ice storm this winter we just told the kids we were camping out in the living room.

If you need anything please post it.

I learned about this from your post! No one in my family called- probably because I would FREAK OUT (little emotional these pregnancy days)! My family is all safe but I am not looking forward to seeing the damage, trying to catch something on the news now.

I am so glad to hear that ya'll are ok. I thought of you as soon as I heard your town name on the weather channel. Then thought "Oh NO. We're next!" We live about 45 miles north of Chattanooga and we stayed hunkered down in one of our bath tubs. Being from Arizona, I WAS SKEERED!
We are w/o power also.

I know God was with us as well. I dont know if we had an actual tornado touch down, but there are trees down all over.

God bless you.
