The devastation . . .

We got electricity last night. I was worried because it was suppose to be somewhat cool and I was afraid we might get cold. So I was so relieved when the lights came back on. A couple of hours later, we got our cable back. The horror when we turned on the 10 o'clock news. A mother and her 9 week old baby didn't make it and were killed during the storm. And the houses . . . man, oh, man - The neighborhood that is right beside us had a house on top of another house!!! And there were several house flattened. But what is crazy is the tornado went around the perimeter of Murfreesboro! It just circled around the city!

I still don't have internet and I'm using my Sprint aircard - which is HORRIBLE in my house!!!! So ssssllllloooowww! And I'm about to throw this computer I'm currently on!!! It's that bad!

If you emailed me - give me some time to get back to you! And thank you for all the comments and prayers! It is appreciated!!

I've been thinking . . . . watch it now, this could be scary!! I'm really trying to finish up the boys' room - I'm so close! I was thinking that once I'm done, maybe do one of those linky parties that you see everyone doing! Everyone do a post on their children's room. Baby, Toddler . . . preteen - Whatever the age. I want to see how YOU decorate your kids' rooms! And I'm sure everyone else wants to see, too! Let me know your thoughts! I would be completely embarrassed if I was the ONLY person to do it! So, tell me . . . interested?????

Okay, I've got to go make some potato salad - yes, that's right. The potato salad that is so good that if you put it on your head, your tongue would smack your face to get to it!!! Yep, this one!

Gotta go - this slow internet is killing me!!! What did we do when we only had dial-up??

Oh, Miss Kim. You crack me up! My kids are all grown and gone, but my office is still a kid's room. I'd love to share.
I'm so happy that you have electricity back, and cable for the kids. I can't even imagine the horror of a tornado!
Have a wonderful Easter. I'm sending you lots of chocolate thoughts! :)

I am so glad to know that ya'll are OK. I just read about the young mother and her baby....so sad!
Hopefully, things will be back to "normal" soon!
Oh, and I would do the "kids rooms" things! It may give me incentive to finish Chelsea's room!

So glad to hear from you tonight and know that you and your family are safe. Praying for those in your area who have lost homes, personal items and most tragically, members of their families. I pray that these families have a relationship with our Lord and Savior and that they lean on him during these times!

Happy Easter to you and your family!

I'm so glad you and your family are okay. It's all very sad. There was no damage at all on my side of town. So bizarre how these storms work.

Hi Kim, catching up with your story and I am so glad you are all well. What a horrible tragedy--and during this peaceful time of thanks. I hope your community will rally around those less fortunate.

Hello! I was blog-stalking around and came upon yours. Lucky me! First, I'm glad your family is safe from that crazy tornado. Second, I LOVE your art! I'm expecting my first little one any day now, and once we find out who he/she is, I may need to place an order with you! Third, I love your idea about a baby/kid room post. I actually just finished posting about the baby room that my hubby and I just finished! Feel free to pop over to my blog to check it out.

I actually made your potato salad yesterday for my son's four year old party. Yummy! One question - where/what brand is the cucumber ranch dressing? I couldn't find it and I just used regular ranch. Still so good! Glad you and your family are safe - and yes, I would do a linky party! :)

Hey Kim!
I hope you and the family had a great Easter, I'm anxious to hear how Em like her B-Day gifts. So glad you were spared the wake of the tornado's destruction, it's such a humbling experience to have to dive into a closet or bathroom and keep the family safe! We were so thankful it didn't get quite that close to us! I'm sure you are, too!
