What is a momma to do?

So, I found this little set of cuteness at the unfinished furniture store. {The one that went out of business = steal!!} My di-A-lemma arises from the fact that I have no idea what to do with it!

One thing is for sure - it is not being stained!!! I mean come on . . . it's kids' furniture, for a kids' room. For Pete's sake, it is going in my 3 boys' room. It is probably going to look trashed out in about 6 and half weeks after it's completed! But it still has to be done up fabulous - not ghetto fabulous - but fabulous!! Should I paint it like I would a canvas {I was thinking like the charmed collection} or should I paint it a solid color with some distressing? Maybe each chair a different color as well as the table a different color??

Wait . . . . that last option is sounding familiar - oh yeah, 'cause I saw that option in Pottery Barn Kids!!!

Check it out - the same-exact-stinkin' furniture!!! Except I didn't pay 59 bucks a chair nor did I pay 99 bucks for the table! Okay, that is adorable and the table is even stained!! So, what the heck do I do!?

I'm really diggin' the green - and I do have 2 unfinished night stands that I can paint up to match. Oh, jeezey - the decisions!! And I'm loving the blue . . . . and the red. It would match the room so perfect. But so would all the choices listed above. I have NO idea what I'm going to do?

Any suggestions????

I think you should do it like you would a canvas..I know it would take more time and planning, but you could protect it so that it would last. You could even do all three boys' names on the table top in different fonts (if you really wanted to go all-out). You have great, unique ideas and then you could still do the chairs different colors??? I don't know...this might qualify as ghetto-fabulous! LOL!

What a find! What a cute little table. I would paint each chair a different color and use those 4 colors to paint the table. One color the legs, one color for the top, so on and so on! Have fun with it and I can't wait to see what you do with it! :)

I've been lurking for a bit but really enjoy your blog. :)

I think I might Paint each chair a differnt color and make them look old and distressed. Also with the table top, I think I might take some really fun pictures of your boys and put them in black and white and decopage them to the top of the table... That is what I saw when I saw the table. Do you know if that place is still open???? I would love to have the same thing for Mason... Good luck I cannt wait to see the finished product, I know it will look really great.

I want something like that for a playroom. I think the chairs would look cute painted a different color. Something fun. I love the primary colors right now. I think you could do each child's initial on the chair. Something fun and whimsical (sp?) I know it will look cute. Post pics!!

Great find!! Love the thought of your artwork going on the table- then picking out a solid coordinating color(s) for the chairs(maybe with a monogram or initial on each chair! whatever you do will be fabulous! kijsa is painting away, and is almost done with several small canvases!

blessings,

Ok, I like the idea of painting the chairs each a different color and the table looking like Hudson's painting... I think that will look to cute!

Very cool! Go more canvas style!! Either way would be very cool :) Or write a sweet poem around the top part on the edge or a bible verse or something close to your family. Super sweet! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Are your boys as artistic as you?

How about painting it completely and totally with chalk board paint?

You could do the table black and the chairs green -- or the other way around.

I'm so glad I found your blog. I will bookmark it!
