I know I said that I would be back next time {which was actually suppose to be yesterday!} to tell you guys about the most popular name, but you will have to wait a little longer! I was suppose to tell this story a week+ ago! And I just remembered!!
Wednesday during the summers is considered "swim day" - I have a couple of friends who will come over with all their kids {makes for a big bunch - just let me tell ya'} and we go to one of my neighborhood pools {even though they give me grief that I bring so many guest - nevermind the fact that it's only 2 adults and the rest are under school aged - another post for another time!}
Well, two weeks ago today, on July 22nd, after swimming and lunch - everyone was upstairs {except for Em and Alaina Claire} trying to pick up all the toys when Em started crying. Womble Mommy went downstairs and brought her up and told me she was holding her arm? Not thinking much about it except that she was exhausted, I held her till she stopped crying and then put her to bed.
All during naptime she would whine out. And after nap, she still held her arm. She would let you move, touch it, etc. So I knew it wasn't broken. But throughout the evening it was apparent it was something. I was going to take her to the ER, but decided against it - thinking she was getting better with the way she was acting! The girl was all happy and giggles BUT her arm just was hanging!
She went to bed early that night and the next morning when she woke up, she was in the exact same spot I laid her in! The girl couldn't get up! That was it, she was going to the ER. I had already had a shower, Lonnie was still at home, I changed her diaper and went on!
It was so quick at the ER - nobody was there at 7 o'clock in the morning! At this point, I really thought her collar bone was broken. Once the doctor saw her, he did too! After x-rays and one terrified baby, we went back to our hospital room. She picked up her sippy cup and started drinking! She hadn't done that since she hurt her arm. Then I noticed she was using the gimpy arm!!!
The doctor came in about to explain to me it was nothing but a sprain. But I interrupted him to say how she just started using the joker and he started shaking his head. He said that he couldn't officially diagnose it, but she probably had Nursemaid's elbow!
"Pardon, me?? If anyone should have some nursemaid's elbow, it is I?! After nursing 4 kids {2 at the same time} their first year of life!? You've got to be kidding me - that is an actual diagnosis?"
"Yes, and it seems hers got popped into place when she was getting her x-rays," as he was chuckling.
He showed me how to pop it back in if it happens again - which I still don't know when it happened or how! I know Alaina Claire is an innocent bystander in this. She is normally running in the opposite direction when Em is there. Em loves her sooooo much - AC not so much! ha!! Em comes on just a little strong for some people!!
So, she left the hospital - fine! Absolutely nothing wrong with her!
Parenting - so many fun times . . . . reminds me of the time I got a police escort {blue lights and all} to my vet's office because my dog was choking - yeah, you read that right! I called 911 and they sent over the police {it was a Sunday! The vet was closed!} Frenchie coughed it up when we got in the parking lot!
When I got there and he stepped out to help me carry her in, I was crying and he hugged me. I specifically remember telling him, "Don't worry - people like me don't have kids."
haha!

My daughter had nursemaids elbow last year, terrified us all. Thankfully, it hasn't happened since.
Happy to hear it wasn't a broken collar, we've been through that and it was really difficult. Couldn't really go anywhere for 2 weeks because Bug couldn't ride in a car seat.
How strange! I'm glad she's better! :)
That's crazy. I had never heard of that before! And the middle picture is just adorable!
My youngest grandson has had numerous run ins with nursemaids elbow.....
after his first visit to the ER we have been able to put it back in place ourselves......first time, we were squeamish, but after that, NO problem doing it.
awww :( My baby just had that a few weeks ago. I took her to the ER and they popped it back and she was using her arm again instantly! Isn't it nice that they can bounce back like that?
awww
My daughter had that happen to her a year ago and she still talks about the "time she broke her arm." ha!
I am so happy to hear that she didn't have a broken collarbone. How scared you guys must have been waiting for the diagnosis. She is so cute in her tutu and sippy cup! I have pics of my daughter in her ballet outfit playing on the steps too.

Nurse maids elbow happens really easy, lifting or swinging them by the arm, pulling off a tight shirt or coat... My daughter had it and once they popped in back in she was happily using her arm again right away. It hasn't happened again in two years.
Oh, thank God she was OK! I knew that with all of those adorable pictures, everything just had to be alright!
I'm so glad that it was nothing serious. I love the escort story. Thank you for the laugh.
goodness! I've never heard of the Nursemaid's elbow! And had to laugh when you said "if anyone should have some nursemaid's elbow..."
also, about your puppy police escort service! lol
...but it's good to hear that Em's ER day (and your pup's) ended well and she was back in business...Cute photos with her sippy cup and tutu!
Too cute!!! You know I love pictures!
Glad it wasn't anything more serious. Those are the cutest pictures! She is adorable!! I'm telling you, if we lived closer, our girls would be life long friends. Em reminds me so much of my Lily.
The pictures are adorable! She's obviously bursting with personality. I know what you mean about 'coming on a little strong.' I've discovered that most kids don't like to be hugged and kissed by strange toddlers...although the adults love it.
Glad she is better. Just wanted to say she is adorable.. "trying" not to pose.
So glad that she is okay! Poor girl. (That is so funny about the dog.)
She is too cute! Love the pics. We did the broken collar bone thing and then when that was healed she ran into the wall and broke her nose, sigh...the joys of motherhood. One adventure at a time! Embrace every minute of it because they grow very fast (and then you sleep, lol)

Happy to hear that your little girl's arm is okay. Ouch, I don't know if I could pop it back in place!
Your police escort story was so hilarious! I laughed out loud reading it, and then shared it with my husband who also LOL! I hope Frenchie realizes how lucky she(?) is! :)
Glad she is ok!! She is getting so big. I love the story about the dog!! LOL!
It's never a complete summer with out atleast one trip to the emergency room! We spent day there a few weeks ago because my 2 year old ate Vicks! I am glad she's okay and smiling! She's a cutie!
We found out the hard way that tug-of-war between brothers (with the rope wrapped around one's wrist) could cause nursemaid's elbow!
Glad it wasn't broken!
Why is it that after an injury our children are fine, but we're still traumatized? Oh, the joys of being a mama!
I've had some unexplainable things happen to me too. I'm glad she's ok.
