Here I am . . . .

Okay, okay . . . . I was doing so good with this posting stuff this month. And then the season finale of LOST came on! I've been trying to wrap my brain around it - haha! Yes, I'm that big of a dork when it comes to that kind of stuff. BUT I think I have it figured out! I do really - of course I felt this way after every few shows . . . then, well . . . , if you watch LOST you know where I'm going with this. I really think it's called LOST cause you feel that way when you watch it! Those fools aren't LOST on the show, they know they are on some kind of crazy island that has special powers! I've read a couple of people's views on the episode - such as Rocks in My Dryer - several of them didn't think that Bernard and Rose's appearance "wasn't exactly central to the plot" - but I feel like it was as significant as was the contents of the box {which I hope you all saw coming!} If you remember the convo that Jacob had with the strange man in black {who is very apparently Locke now!} at the very beginning of the episode - well Rose and Bernard proved Jacob right in that conversation! B and R said what Jacob said could be on the island. But of course EVERY SINGLE other person has proved ol' man in dark right!! Even though Jacob seems to think this is "progress."

Okay, I'll stop there! But I tell ya', I think I have it figured out - FINALLY!!! This show has been driving me nuts! I can't stand not knowing the end to anything. And I hate surprises! But I will not be surprised if the man in black's name Esau - I'm just saying! The show has had biblical based info the whole time! And think about it - it makes sense!!

Alright, alright - I'm done with it! Besides I have till 2010 to think about it!!

On to some art! I did finish several pieces this weekend! And I have 4 that match the same bedding that I'm focusing on right now - that's right, 4! So, hopefully I've got enough from this weekend to have some art posts to get you guys through till I complete those 4. I'm afraid some of you might be sick of just art! I've got a few other posts ready to go that have absolutely nothing to do with art . . . some of me, changes and decor! Just hang on with me!

I was given this pillow to match. They really like the "paxton" painting that was on the site. So, it was apparent go with the stripes! But I was also told not to be too matchy-matchy! I swear, I tried . . . but some of the stripes did have the same pattern BUT not all of them!

I did the dots around the edge. Because as you know, there is a dot on every painting I do!

The blue actually matches much better than what the picture depicts - yes it is more vibrant, but it's a match!

We all know the Nester. Well she has her famous tag that says "it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful" - I totally agree, and in most cases it's the imperfection that makes it perfect. {Oxymoron.} Such as my painted lines!

I've had people ask if I tape off my stripes. Uhmmm, well no! I feel like my somewhat crooked lines look much better than that hideous bleed through you see from tape! Although I know how to avoid that when painting on a wall - you can't so much with a canvas! Just a bit too porous. But that is my opinion. Some of you might like the bleed through effect. I'm just not a fan {at all.} My advice is keep working on it. It is amazing how much better it will look with the right paint brush. Again, I'm not saying that mine are super straight. But you should have seen them 4 years ago with the wrong brush! Yikes! I'm just hanging on to Nester's tag line with that one!

There you have it - a small thought on LOST, some art and a little stripe painting info! What more can you ask for on this beautiful-sunshiny-Monday morning?

The Mason painting is gorgeous!! I love the not-so-perfect lines :) another question though - do you freehand all of your fonts? If so you are amazing!!

once we move our little girl into her 'big girl' room - once another baby comes along, I can't wait to get her one of your paintings!

Before I even started reading your post today, I wondered if you taped your lines to get them so straight! LOL

So what kind of brush do you use? What kind of paints?

I love all the artsy posts!

Okay, Lost has me lost.... to your point. I love the show but hate that I can hardly follow it and I especially hate that it won't be on again until next year.

You are absolutely right about imperfection of course so is the Nester. People who get hung up on perfection are not my friends. You, my dear, are fabulous as is your art work.

i TOTALLY think LOST has biblical parallels. Its like the Island of good and evil or something. but i still dont understand the B and R thing. I cant wait til 2010! its too far!!! also, the painting...lovely. you do such great work! My daughters bedding is actually that Penelope from your other post, so I was fond of it as well. Dont you just love the birds?

I see it in the background... the sweet princess bedding from Pottery Barn. I didn't luck out and get it- it was gone before I could blink. I can't wait to see what art pieces you do to match it!!

Oooh, I really like that pillow, and you made an awesome painting to match! Quite fabulous!!

I finally picked out bedding and colors for my little ones room, I am doing a fun bright gender neutral room, and can't wait to order a painting! My sister was expecting a girl and had a boy last week, so I am waiting to order anything personalized or too girlie or boyish until after the baby is here!

But come October, I can order my Addison or Riley painting, finally!!!! :o)
