No naps = no time

Since last week, my kids are not really taking the usual 2 + hour nap they are use to having. Now, not only do I have C.RA.N.K.Y. kids, but no real time to do anything during the day! I want my kids to take a nap, but due to this crazy schedule we now have that includes all the speech and feeding therapies, OT, Mom's Day Out and Preschool - we are just always on the road! They do get some sleep in the car - but not much. And to be honest, I'm getting somewhat of an overwhelmed feeling. You know when you just have so much to do and it's not getting done!! Well, that is where I'm at right now. So again, I beg you all to forgive me if I don't comment on your blogs - I've got to get some stuff accomplished around here someway or another . . . . ugh!

Last night as I was painting pink, green and brown dots, my husband volunteered to help - ha!! He really didn't think I would take him up on that offer - what was he thinking?!

Go, Lonnie, Go!!! He painted 13 canvases last night!!! 13! I only wanted him to do the base coats - and he did! Of course, he was sitting at the table saying "this is fun . . . how relaxing . . . . no wonder you like to do this . . . I can do this too . . . ", etc. Then he goes into saying how he can have his own line of art within the small words "company" {as he put it!} My response, "Go find your own people! Just because you put 2 coats of a solid color on the background {that will mostly be covered up when I start on it} doesn't mean you can paint!" He is still working on a plan for something to do when he retires from the military. Oh jeez - that is all I need, him home - with me - all day - bad idea!

Since he was painting on my table, I had to find a new spot to paint. My room {like usual} was trashed!} So, I spent a good 30 or so minutes cleaning it up. I found something hideous! Heinous! I'm talking about Hurt My Eyes!!! It's so bad, I'm only showing you a smidge of it! Only a smidge!

Can you guess what it is?? Trust me, it took me 15 minutes to find a straight line to take a picture of!! A few of you are going to know - since it PROUDLY hung on the wall for 1 year or so!

Okay, I'll tell you - it is the first painting I ever did - 4 years ago!! Really it was about this time 4 years ago when I picked up a paint brush. I might {eventually} show it to you - just maybe. But I'm not ready to today! Yikes . . . the only thing good on this piece is the FRAME {okay, and the color choices do rock!}

Here is to hoping you can get some things done :). That was pretty sweet of your hubby...even if he had a moment of madness.

Um, nothing you do is bad...even if it is your first.

I can't wait for my 'K'. I already cleared a spot for it...I think I need a dose of patience...

Oh no! Loving lubby helping is fine and dandy, but working at home with you working at home, uhh uhhhh. I love Mitcheal, and feel bad that he works so much, and I miss him terribly when he is gone, but man oh man do I cherish that time home by myself!!! Cherish it!

Oh, and do show your hideous first painting... you are too hard on yourself sometimes, it can't be that bad, can it???

I can't wait to get the "C" for Courtney's room. I'm practicing using my new camera so I can take some great pictures of it!!!

That is so funny. I make children's hairbows & clothing. When I first learned to make them, I thought they looked pretty good but when I went back later and looked at them it was hideous. I was embarassed that I ever showed some of those off to the world on my daughter's head!!! It's funny how our perspective changes.

Good for your husband- now just do what I do with my husbands grand ideas smile and go along with it and then in a few days or weeks he will forget and move on. One advantage to men. I am sorry you are so busy- more for myself. We finally jumped into it and my husband made bunkbeds these past two days. Now pain- we can't stain do some issues... so paint what color? So I thought to ask you and then read your post. Too bad you are busy- once again selfishly. Get your work done and pray that I won't pick the wrong color and it become one HUGE disaster

I love that you put Lonnie to work! I bet that painting is still wonderful (even if you think it's not).

Isn't it great when the hubbies help out! Mine cleaned the kitchen tonight and it makes me want to give him a big smooch!

My 4 yr old doesn't nap at all anymore (not for my lack of trying) and it is a nightmare!
