No, I'm not joking.
Apparently you don't visit often {if ever} since I have explained this in a recent post. I try to keep my art priced at prices that I'm willing to PAY. The original 5x5 set was made as a gift and I never intended to sell it. But since I got great feedback from it, I felt the need to offer it. I can't offer it any cheaper - because I can't find the canvases any cheaper. AND the fact that I have about 4 hours invested in each set . . .
. . . . how much do you make an hour?
I bet it's more than 3 dollars.

I hate anon commentors. I hope they all die.
Loving your art btw =)
Hey ... congrats on blog of note. Have a nice day
I can't believe someone left that kind of message! When you buy an original piece of artwork you expect to pay that type of price. If you want cheep you go to a discount store. You have lots of work in your pieces and I wouldn't do it for less.
How cool, that a SITSa got blog of note!!
Your work is very nice. People can be mean. If you are in a bad mood, don't go blogging. Mean people:P
Read your story about your son. I am hoping for better days for your family, especially during this Thanksgiving.
Take Care!
Anonymous has obviously never priced out canvases, brushes, paint, embellishments, TIME, need I go on???
I love your work, and you deserve what you charge. Ignore the haters.
Don't let trash talk get to you , I know it is hard not to get annoyed , meanies suck!
Chris
I would delete the message left by anonymous and be done with it. You don't need comments like that.
On a brighter note, glad to hear your son is home. I hope he is feeling better.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I turned off my anonymous comments because I didn't like the idea of someone leaving ugly comments and not identifying themselves.
The paintings are JUST SO CUTE!!!!
Miss Kim...
i'm new in these parts, but also an artist and have run into many who seem to think that jewelry creates itself. Designing takes time, there are other costs and i would more than welcome anyone advice if they would prefer to make their own.
i was happy to see that you didn't apologize for your prices. You are quite reasonable (in my book) and your site is delightful!
Come on, Anon, are you really going to feel better buying some trashy Wal Mart gift, or giving something unique made just for someone you care about?
Buy "HAND MADE" this holiday season! Support those who create at home, who work long hours for very little cost in labor and who have something fun, charming and unique to offer.
Miss Kim - You are a doll and your idea clever and beautifully executed.
Do what you love... Love what you do...
hi how are you?? i want you congrats for the blog of note and love your blog too well if you got time please try to check my blog too its rompalozine.blogspot.com thanks alot and have a nice time ,bye bye
My first visit here, courtesy of Blogs of Note (congratulations!) & I gotta say kudos for speaking up about this. I've blogged about this very issue - I've had a drawing for years that is the most wanted piece of art I've ever done, but no one actually wants to pay for it. I've actually had people ask to borrow it for a while, since I'm not doing anything with it! Craziness!
:) Debi
You are OK.
That's terrible you have to keep explaining yourself to people. Your prices are extremely reasonable. However, there are many artists out there that are expensive. And then there are those that buy prints that cost as much as the original. Now that's a different story. I guess there are just people out there that don't appreciate nice things.
Anonymous must not realize how much time (and love, resources, money) goes into handmade items and artwork. Because our inventories are custom and small, most of us don't or can't buy raw materials in bulk quantities. Then add on shipping & packaging materials, then postage, insurance, return receipts, on and on. You have to price it right or you can't continue to offer your art! Best of everything to you ...
I totally sympathize with this post! To heck with all those un-cultured nay sayers who have no idea what time, effort and love go into a piece. I've gotten so much flack about my prices from ignorant rude people doubting the value of my work. I mean, if you don't like the price of something enough to pay it then move on, no harm done, right?
keep up the awesome work and congrats on being a featured blog of note!
cool!! congrats on being a blog of note! feel free to stop by my blog anytime...! :)

I had to go back & re-read the comments to see if you wrote this in response to the honest feedback from one commenter that I would probably have taken really personally, so to actually see the comment that anonymous posted "$50 youre joking etc." I am astonished. That is so unbelievably rude. That person has obviously never put their time and heart into creating something, or purchasing supplies for it. $50 is so fair - probably too cheap but you are still consciously trying to keep it to where people can afford it - yes you are using God's talents, but it takes precious time from your family and this is your business - AND you are buying the supplies - canvases, brushes, paint, sparkles - it all adds up. I am really aggravated for you at that comment.
Well Kim, you know what I think- I think your ART is WAY UNDERPRICED, so I was very surprised that you're ONLY charging $50 for the SET. How much would you charge for a SIGNED edition? :) Your work is priceless, and I cherish it. Thank you for sharing your talents.
I can't stand anonymous comments! I say...if you can't put your name behind a comment...don't leave it!
I feel your pain about "Anon"! I had a booth at a craft fair recently, and wanted to bitch-slap a couple of people after they had a few rude comments about my products AND my prices! What they didn't realize is that I was selling my products at HALF the price it sells for in boutiques!
Don't ever apologize for your prices! It is obvious the attention to detail that you put in your work and "Anon" is a moron AND rude!
You were nicer than I would've been! Too bad people have to be that mean!
So glad to hear your son is doing well...I was praying for him. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!!!
