when you got friends emailing ya' to ask if everything is okay because I "haven't posted much this week." HAHA!!! Yes, I'm fine - everything is perfect except for the fact that my kids have not napped much this week. That kind of cuts into blog time {and paint time for that matter!} And speaking of paint time {I'm not going to mention how many orders are up on the board -but know I'm smiling with delight!} I've gotten several orders for the "boo"!! How cool is that? Soooo, a friend suggested to me that I should do a painting for each holiday AND once that holiday is over - that painting is retired! Like I'm famous or something and you guys really care if you have a "retired" piece of me! Hey, sounds like a plan to me! So, be looking for my next seasonal painting! Fun, fun!!
Okay, so I'm working on a big one right now {3 canvases actually} and I keep having to break from it {so, I don't get burnt out from the design!} Well, during the breaks I've been working on this HYSTERICAL painting. Oh, you guys are going to love this one . . . someone is having a little get together at her house at the end of the month and she "desperately" needed something for her half bath {because everyone will surely be using it!} The house has a beachy theme - but with some chocolate brown thrown in {hence the chocolate background you are about to see} - We both have wracked our brain trying hard to come up with something for this room - a shell, a palm tree, a crab, etc . . .- but it had to be something "funny" {I can't wait for her husband to see this one - hehehe!!} Then it hit us . . . A FLAMINGO!! With a crown!! And funny orange striped legs! And maybe a pearl necklace!!! I'm not quite finished with this funny lady, but I thought you guys might want to see her so far.
Introducing {insert a great name here} . . . .
Are you not just cracking up at those legs?? I must admit she looks so much better in person! So, here is where I need some help - big crown or tiny crown?? Pearls or no?? Thin stripes of orange glitter on those skinny legs?? Eyelashes?? And this sister needs a name!
Help?!

AHHHH...I love it. I think a big crown tipped to the side with glitter and bling. Keep the legs like they are. I have no idea what to name her...
I know that Kijsa (you know b/c we're on a first name basis, her and I...yeah right) does a silouette painting or cutout every year so the holiday is an awesome idea...as your Marketing Director...why didn't I think of that????
She is so cute, really! I love the idea of pearls - why not name her "Ruby Mae" sounds like a retired lady that moved to the beach, don't you think?
'Pinky' is adorable! But if she's going to have eyelashes and pearls then the crown should be small, which I think would look best anyway. And don't forget to add glitter to the crown! And maybe even a touch to the end of a couple eyelashes. As if I needed to remind you.
Nice legs ; )
I'm so freakin excited because I have a sneaky suspicion that those 3 that you need a break from might be mine!!!
Love the holiday idea, I could so see a christmas JOY or valentines day LOVE, what a GREAT IDEA!
As for "Fanny" (my name for Miss Flamingo) my vote is for small crown with glitter, pearls and glitter on the legs, you can never have too much glitz.
GIRL! STOP IT -- I LOVE IT!! Big crown - tipped to the side FOR SURE ... def add the pearl necklace and some eyelashes!
I love the 'holiday' look -- mama needs some "BOO" letters!!!
A small crown with some sparkle, yes to the pearls and eyelashes, no to the glitter on the legs and name her Cleo.
Yay!! to the retired pieces AND I think they should be in limited quantity too!! ;)
I think Queen Clarissa needs a big crown with rhinestones and a pearl necklace Fo Sho!!
Oh and YES to the eyelashes!!! and glitter too for that matter--I agree never too much of the glam!
I love the limited edition/retired holiday piece idea! You know I have to have some BOO! I agree with "A New England Life". Duchess Floticia is beautiful- your talent never ceases to amaze me!!!
either a crown with lots of jewels or a tiara! glitter on those lases if possible and def some pearls!
I say the more sparkles, glitter, pearls the better. Definitely a crown for sure. Can't wait to see it
I think you're well on your way to being a famous artist, so retiring seasonal pieces sounds like a great idea!
Also, I'm loving the flamingo! I think the gaudier the better! Maybe even some sparkle on the eyelashes!
TOO CUTE!!! Pearls and glitter on the legs!!!
I'm going with Lola!! She just looks like a Lola to me. And my vote is also for the crown. The big body and the tiny legs...HEY is that me your painting???
"Flossy" (the flamingo) is cute! Add small crown, eyelashes and keep the legs the way they are (IMO)
Halloween isn't my holiday but I will definitely be back to see what you come up with for Thanksgiving and Christmas! If they are as cute as the BOO, I'm going to need some!
OMG! I am in love! So talented! Okay you need to keep the legs...love em. A friend of mine did her daughter's bathroom in hot pink and black and had this super cute chic flamingo accent fabric..gotta send you a picture it might give you some more ideas! Great Job girl.
Big Crown for sure! I am not sure about the pearls-but I love the legs! I was prepared for something bad-but are ya kidding me? That looks awesome! You are so talented. Love it!
Whitt votes to name her Floosy Lucy!! I think shes gorgeous and can't wait to bring her home!
Girl you are something else!!!
:)
What a GREAT idea ;)! However, I don't want you to retire anything!!! Next October when I have been in my new house almost a year, I want to display a BOO!
Love the flamingo! Glitter...YES! Eyelashes...YES! Pearls...DEFINITELY!
I like a small crown, but you know what is best!
I would love to see her with a small crown and pearls and sparkly legs! How cute! Hmm a name. . . . .
Flossy Flamingo - or Queen Flo - I am scratching my head how you manage the 4 naps and painting.... makes me want a nap just thinking about it!
Good Luck and may the force be with you!
