House of the Crazies: Episode 14

Sometimes I debate whether or not I put some of these post on the family blog or this blog. I try to leave the family blog for the "kids" - while this blog is more "me" - but this is one of the times that the story just fit both categories.

So, obviously - I decided this would be the better place to post. As you will see, this time the story is more me . . . .

I recently had one of those days - it was me, an air freshener and a garbage disposal and it was WAR!! We recycle at our house. And I had used up all my dish washing soap. After I rinsed it out well, I took a butter knife to it so that I could pry off the air freshener at the bottom.

I really thought that the small beads would be enclosed in the protective cap they were in. WELL FOLKS - they are not!! Those beads dumped in my sink - the garbage disposal side! I thought, "oh well, my disposal is always 'hungry' - it can eat them!" I turned the water on to flush the few that were left in the sink down in the drain and then - I flipped the switch. Of course it made this horrific sound - always does - but as I'm looking at it - out pops a flippin' green bead and pops me in the forehead!! I'm like, "what the heck!" So, then like a total idiot - I lean further in to take another look - mind you the disposal is still on - and another flippin' bead hits me in the head! Then they all started poppin' out like freakin' popcorn!! Now mind you, 3 of my kidlets are wrapped around my legs during this time - I know you can all picture this, but just in case you can't - here is another visual . . .
My sink sits in an angle - the garbage disposal is on the far left - see the switches on the wall? The disposal switch is the far right one.

Okay, so this "crap" is poppin' out like crazy and I dropped to the floor and scream, "Oh CRAP!" My kids, of course find this hysterical as I'm stretching my 5 foot body towards the light switch - that I obviously CAN'T reach from the kneeling position on the floor!!! But I didn't want to stand up afraid the green beads would hit me in the eye or somewhere else that would really hurt!

I just told you how I screamed out "oh CRAP" - must be a favorite line of mine, because Hudson has started saying it!! Of course at this moment, he {still laughing} starts screaming, "oh CRAP!! I'm reaching for the switch yelling back at him, "don't say THAT!" He {still laughing} starts to really scream it! Okay, so now I'm yelling at him AND the GARBAGE DISPOSAL!! Then all of a sudden, I have Carson {who really doesn't say alot except for one liners} starting to say, "CWAP, CWAP, CWAP . . . " Now, I'm trying to tell him not to say that either as I'm still reaching and stretching for that dang switch as the green beads are still flying everywhere.

I really thought there was only about 25 - 30 of those jokers in the bottom of the soap dispenser - but it seemed like there was about 25,000,000,000,000 popping out at me!!! Can I tell you that I finally got that joker turned off and that I still have not got all the beads out!!

Now, I told you this because I didn't tell my husband. Guess what he said when he turned the disposal on that night?? Let's just put it this way - Hudson, hysterically screamed out, "oh CRAP" as Carson followed suit with, "CWAP, CWAP, CWAP . . ."

The END . . . . True story
