Adventures in toilet training and the "cupcake" . . . .

Since I'm on such an unprofessional kick lately, let me tell you about the potty training that has actually been going on around here! Several post back I had mentioned Hudson finally peed in the potty. And he did 1 time for 3 days in a row. That was it - but I wasn't pushing it either! Well, Saturday I decided it was time for him to use the potty - no diapers, no training pants, no slowly easing into it - but in the Spiderman undies 100% of the time. {Even though he has absolutely no idea who Spiderman is!} Well, he was mad at first. Actually, he threw down his size 6 diaper and said, "Awwww, NUTS!" But he put his underoos on and went about his day. The first time he didn't make it in time and peed in front of the potty {pretty good considering he was downstairs by himself and tried to go on his own.} After that - he has been great! Going without being asked - HELLO, talking about easy! BUT he did poop in them 1 time each day and has yet to do the dirty business on the potty! Other than that - we are good to go! Now, if I can get him to stop playing with the toilet paper!

For all those who guessed Cupcake, which was . . .well, err . . uhmmm everybody, you were right! Talking about making that just a little too easy! Unfortunately, I didn't finish it - someone ralphed last night and this morning - so I was on puke patrol all night long! I have some others I need to post about - but I'm dragging it out! Sorry!

But since it was easy, I will give you a peek into the next step with the cupcake! Hhmmm, I wonder what this could be? {People, I know it has got to be obvious! }

Potty time- you have probably already heard but some kids don't go poop in the potty right away. My oldest is one of them. My second child actually was trained just weeks after the oldest finally started going-- she saw everything her big sister went through and didn't dare. So don't push the poop thing because I guess it can be some type of separation ordeal for the kid... weird! But congratulations to him for being so awesome with the rest, maybe he can be an example to his little bros and they will jump on the band wagon now too- how awesome would that be? :) I really hope the puking stops I can't wait to see the finished product- and because I hope you all feel better too. ;)

Been there with the potty training. Wish you much strength and patience. They will eventually get it...don't rush it. That only makes it harder for everyone.

Happy Birthday!!!

Mmmmmmmmm, Sprinkles!!!!!

We trained our son with plain underpants, too! WOrked really well except for the pooping. We had to bribe him with his recently-taken-away pacifier....it worked like a charm!!

Good Luck!!

Potty training has got to be one of my least favorite things about parenting, (although the teenage years are making potty training look dreamy). Good luck--and may no one else get the pukies at your home!

Happy Birthday KIM! Hudson gave you a pretty good birthday present didn't he? One kid almost out of diapers? That rocks! Three to go sister...

Oh, that's going to be sprinkles for sure. Love it!

I hate puke patrol. Usually it happens in my bed.

Awsome potty training. I am trying to get mine to do that.

No potty for us yet at 2 1/2...when we go to our local grocery store (Schnuck's in the Midwest), our daughter always gets a free cookie...with sprinkles. So, the grocery has now become the "sprinkle store!" Wonder if they'd consider a name change? :)

SPRINKLES!!! I think the "awwww nuts" throwing down of the diaper was cute! Yay for him using the potty on his own. :o)

Thanks for your comment. I just found out a couple days ago that I am pregnant again. So we are hoping that the third time will be the charm!

Thank you for visiting my humble little blog! I'm glad you liked my canvas--it comes nowhere near your amazing stuff. I get many great ideas from you, but don't worry--I won't be opening an Etsy shop any time soon. ;-)

Kim-
your life is always full of sweets - whoever would have thought that getting a child potty trained would be so
rewarding. Each day, tell yourself that you are doing your best and so are they!
Now go have some sprinkles on your cupcake or in the potty! (or paint!)
