check out this FUNKY mirror that I found. I loved it!! And I had to have it!!
It had a great shape, but hideous/raunchy finish!! So I painted it!!
I think it will look great in my half bath.

shabby to chic . . .
okay - I completely enjoy creating things - many things. But my first love is turning trash to treasure - ugly to fabulous - someone's imperfection to my perfection - You get the picture!!! I found this table several years ago . . .
. . . and I just never got to it!! But oh - how I love its lines, its detail, all the crevices - the french design is one of my all time favorites. So, I decided the first of the week that I was going to give this small table some of my left over time.(because I've got so much of it - haha.) So, each night after all the kids went to sleep, I worked on this potentially great table.
I sanded the top with my sander, hand-sanded the rolled edge, with my air-nailer I added a little more support with a couple of finishing nails to each leg as well as some wood glue, with some paint, stain and a little magic - BOOM - I created this . . .
. . . don't you LOVE it?!?! I'm not quite finished. I need to add a few coats of poly, but I didn't want to wait any longer to post the picture. I'm so very happy & proud with the way it turned out.
And I think I have the perfect spot for this little treasure . . .

Oui, Oui . . .
Is this not the coolest eiffel tower you have ever seen!!! Alexa's mom sent me pictures of her room with a description of what she wanted. Her bedding is from Bombay Kids with shades of pink, black and white. Alexa is a "jet-setter" - she wants to travel the world!!! She has an awesome arangement of black rimmed clocks hanging above her bed. They are set for different time zones. In different fonts - under each clock, is a city like New York, Paris, etc. It is probably one of the coolest things that I've seen on a young girl's wall!!
The tower measures 2' x 4'. It is huge. It is black, silver and hot pink with black & silver rhinestones. The coolest part - it GLOWS in the dark!!!
Alexa - I hope you love it!!

This is why I love little KIDS . . .
This is a hysterical email that I received from a great friend today -
Kim - you'll get a kick out of this:
I painted my bathroom this weekend. We did the same color as the master (it's called antique bronze) and painted the ceiling two shades lighter. In the center trey, we painted the same dark color and I put a metallic gold glaze on top of it. The ladder wasn't tall enough so I ran downstairs to get the taller ladder and by the time I got back upstairs (less than 5 minutes) Shawn decided that he would "help" me by brushing on the gold paint. He absolutely ruined it. I tried my best to fix what I could and it doesn't look too bad. I think I need to add an accent color to even it out. Anyway, I was taking a shower last night and Syd was in there talking to me. I was griping out loud about how "your dad had no business messing with that paint, blah, blah" and she put her hands on her hips, looked at the ceiling and said "Maybe Kim Wheeler can fix it!" I said, laughing "Yeah, maybe she can". I'll have to send you a picture and see what you think.

- What makes this so funny, is the fact that they live 1 state & 3+ hours away. To know Sydney makes this even funnier!! She is a tiny thing going into kindergarten this up coming school year!! Thanks Syd for having faith in my painting abilities!!!
